Pavitra Gurumurthi

Embodying grounded presence, deep mystery and sensual essence in your everyday life

This poem came to me as I have been contemplating about the many armours that we wear around our hearts as a way of protecting ourselves from disappointment, pain and sorrow.

This poem is in acknowledgment to every armour that ever existed – thank you for keeping us safe while taking care of our core need to survive.

“Built-up brave
From the wounds of pain

With it grew a wall so thick
Made of iron, surrounding
Brick by brick

There within nestled deep
Lay a tender heart
Loving union, her only blind spot

Soon the winds of change
Will erode away
The once sacred cocoon
That kept her safe

Until then, she bows in honour
Knowing that every inevitable metamorphosis
Is protectively wrapped
For the birthing of a new comer”
